Liquid Aeration

Liquid aeration is very different from other types of lawn aerators. Liquid aeration is basically a liquid soil conditioner. It reduces crusting, loosens clay soils and helps sandy soil to aggregate giving you the perfect soil density for grass roots. The grass roots then are able to deepen in the soil reaching more nutrients & water. This strengthens the roots & the overall lawn. Now your lawn can more easily fight off disease, bugs, and weeds.

There are a few advantages over mechanical aeration when you use a good liquid lawn aerator. Liquid aerators add chemicals & acid to their aerators. Both of these help the soil recover from pesticide or herbicide toxins that may be in the soil.

Another advantage they have is that they push sodium beyond grass roots. Most lawns are too high in sodium (usually from watering), this can be a major compacting problem for lawns high in clay content.

High compaction in clay soils isn’t the only sodium related problem. Sodium also reduces nutrient absorption. So using a good liquid aerator will reduce the amount of sodium in the root zone of the grass allowing the grass to absorb much needed nutrients.

You need to be prepared to do a number of applications of liquid aeration. Mechanical aeration is required 1-3 times per year. Many liquid aerators claim they will last for a full year, but if you have to use a mechanical aerator 3 times per year, I would plan on that with a liquid aerator at least for the first year.
