Benefits Of LED Lights
The led lights are much more efficient than the incandescent lights(8 times) and the fluorescent lights(2 times). They are more focused lights than the other two categories. So, they are a better option for task lighting, desk lamps, reading lights, spot lights, flood lights and track lights.
There are colored led lights also available which are much better than other light sources as the led bulbs produce pure monochromatic light of single color which requires no filtering. Hence no energy is wasted with led lights which is not true with other light sources.
Another benefit of led lights is they does not emit large amount of heat thus saving energy. This saving is doubled in an air conditioned environment whereas in case of incandescent lights, you require more power for air conditioning as they produce large amount of heat.
Led lights always start at full brightness whereas fluorescent lights becomes bright after some time as they warm up. Their warm up time can be extended depending upon the temperature and the age of the lamp. They do not warm up very easily in cold temperature.
Many light sources including fluorescent lights contain mercury that is a dangerous substance but led lights contain no such harmful substance. Also, flu and halogen lights emit ultraviolet light which is very harmful for one’s health. But led lights are absolutely safe to use,. They do not emit any such harmful light.
The life of led bulbs is much more than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. They can be used for 30,000 hours approx. If operated for 8 hours per day, they can last around 10 years. So, one led bulb correspond to 30 incandescent bulbs and 6 compact fluorescent bulbs. So, they are very cheap than other light sources.
Led light bulbs work well in all kinds of temperature and they are less affected by shock and vibration. Fluorescent bulbs are not good for extremes of temperature. Also, frequent on-off switching of fluorescent bulbs cab destroy them where as there is no affect of frequent switching on led bulbs. So, you can save on the cost of replacement.
The high reliability of led lights increases safety and security. Led bulbs operate at much lower temperatures. Halogen and incandescent lights are hot enough to cause fire, and they frequently do.
